Update: I changed my review from one star to four because of the nice response to my concerns and a heartfelt apology when I called to follow-up. I would go back again now that I feel they are doing their best and that they take responsibility when anything is below expectations. Original review: Despite the great reviews, I had a frustrating and disappointing customer service experience. I came in to replace my broken stereo and hoped to learn about my options for car audio setups. Instead, the owner's tone was short and argumentative, never smiling or saying anything beyond what was necessary to completing a sale. When I asked whether you could hear the difference in quality between different speakers, he responded defensively, "all our products are quality," without answering the question. He chose a stereo without finding out what I was looking for or explaining the options, and I felt rushed, unwelcome, and disliked. The stereo he picked wasn't the sound quality I was looking for, so I then had to spend time researching my options myself. Ray won my business on the first phone call. He walked me through the exact cost of multiple options instead of just telling me to come in for a quote. He had a ton of knowledge, down to knowing there was a JBL upgrade in early 2000s Toyota Highlanders and that it requires a separate wiring harness for head unit compatibility. Beyond helping me choose the right head unit and delivering a perfect install, he’s just a soulful, genuine person. I got great conversation and a real sense of community along with the work. Highly recommend.

Came in to install my CarPlay & back up camera & they were able to accept me without appointment & service was super fast! I was so impressed i came back to get my windows tinted!! Great service, fast, great prices, and neat work!!

Can’t say enough about Oakand HI FI. I wanted to get a stereo and speakers for my 2011 Honda Fit. Salvador was great explained my options and quoted me a great price!! I’m so happy with the job they did!

Hey - I had another business do my car stereo and they had high ratings on another website (rhymes with “help”.) the owner of that business was nice but…Oakland hi fi is the place I went to first. Ray is the most professional and courteous guy around and he runs a tight ship! In by 2:30 and full installation by 4:30, no haggling over time, extra parts, and the like as there was with it other installer, no technical problems, no follow up, drove out of there and it works like a dream. Plus he has a real shop, a real garage and custom quality installation. He even drove me to a coffee shop with WiFi to wait for the install and picked me up. A real gentleman, wish I had done by him in the first install (which had to be removed.). The five * is for real!
